'When You're Gone'....but I'm not

“When You’re Gone” is out now, and it’s the first look into the world of Lessons Learned, the new record Luke Sheets and I have been finishing between Montreal and Nashville. This album is basically the last year of my life on tape, everything I learned, everything I got right, and everything I absolutely screwed up. It’s real, lived-in, no polish for the sake of polish. The wild part is how much joy was in the making of it, even when the songs came from the hard stuff. I know everybody says the next one is their best, but I mean it, this is the best work we’ve ever made, top to bottom. Stay tuned, I’m going to keep bringing you behind the scenes as we roll it out.

In The Margins Ep 1

Hey friends,

I wanted to share something new I’ve been working on called In the Margins.

It’s a video series that lives a little off the main road…a look inside songs before they’re finished, songs that didn’t make the cut, and a few that may never come out the “official” way but still mean a lot to me. Early drafts, quiet rooms, first performances, and the stories that happen before a song decides what it’s going to be.

Some of these are unreleased.
Some are half-finished.
All of them are honest.

I’ve always believed the process matters just as much as the result, and this series is my way of letting you see that part of the work. No polish. No hype. Just songs becoming themselves.

Thanks for being here, for listening, and for sticking with me as I keep chasing this thing. There’s a lot more music coming…finished, unfinished, and everything in between.

Also: expect guitars, empty rooms, the occasional deep thought, and probably a lot of Kona, my sweet pup

More soon,
rk
